A vulnerability assessment is a high level scan that will highlight potential vulnerabilities and assign a risk score that can be used to assess the potential risk that a vulnerability could pose.

Due to the automated nature of the process it is less time and resource intensive than a Penetration Test and is therefore less expensive. Vulnerability Assessments are required for compliance with regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and HIPAA.

At the completion of a vulnerability assessment, conducted by NGTS, a comprehensive report will be produced that details any potential vulnerabilities that were found, risks associated with the vulnerability and a series of recommendations that will either remove the vulnerability or mitigate the associated risk.
